BLACK IMMIGRANTS GOT TALENT
Is recognizing that our entrepreneurial contribution to the American economy is our talent
A place where Black immigrant entrepreneurs and small business owners are celebrated.
Why BIG Talent?
Historically, Black immigrants have been virtually invisible to programs aimed at supporting immigrants. Then Covid came. Our businesses and communities now face even more uncertainty.
How We Celebrate
At BIG Talent TV, we acknowledge and reward the "hustle" of Black immigrant entrepreneurs and small business owners. Small grants are awarded in a showcase of their work.
Who We Are
We are Black immigrant entrepreneurs and activists living in the United States who want to seed hope in our communities at a time when fear and hopelessness are increasing.
- In 2018 alone, Black immigrant households earned $133.6 billion, paid $36.0 billion in taxes ($22.8 billion in federal income tax and $13.2 billion in state and local taxes), and had a spending power of $97.6 billion.
- Among all immigrants, Black immigrants have the highest rates of English language proficiency. More than 90 percent of Black immigrants speak English well or only speak English.
